Triad Jeet Kune DoTM was established as a governing body and organizational structure to perpetuate the fighting system of Jeet Kune Do developed by Bruce Lee and seen through the eyes of his student Ted Wong. Our goal is to perpetuate this system for future generations with an organization that will train instructors in a systematic approach that these great men left behind.

JEET KUNE DO (1967 - CURRENT)

Jeetkunedo, Jeet Kune Do, or JKD was founded by Bruce Lee in 1967. Prior to 1967 Bruce was teaching what he called Jun Fan Gung Fu which was heavily based on Wing Chun Gung Fu. Around 1967, when the term Jeet kune do first emerged Bruce Lee was making many changes in his fighting philosophy. One major change was the dissolving of trapping which was more dominant in Jun Fan Gung Fu. Based on a simple theory, "If you have time to trap, you have time to hit". Jeet kune do has a strong foundation in western boxing and fencing unlike its predecessor. Jeet kune do is based on simplicity, directness and non-classical movement (economy of motion).

    BRUCE LEE (1940-1973)

Bruce Lee was an actor, martial artist, philosopher, film director, film producer, screenwriter, the founder of Jun Fun Fan Gung Fu, founder of Jeet kune do, a cultural icon, and most of all the greatest martial artist of our time. Bruce initially trained in Wing Chun Gung Fu, but later rejected the classical martial arts favoring a more scientific approach. In 1967 Bruce Lee coined the term Jeet kune do "The Way of The Intercepting Fist", also known as JKD. This was his personal expression of martial arts based on his research and philosophy. The direction and tone of his films changed and influenced martial arts and martial arts action films around the world. Jeet kune do is only one of Bruce Lee's many legacies that he left the world.

    TED WONG (1937-2010)

Sifu Ted Wong trained with Bruce Lee from 1967-1973. He had the opportunity to train with Bruce Lee at his martial arts school and privately. During the time that he trained with Bruce they became close friends. Sifu Wong received his certificate in jeet kune do directly from Bruce Lee. Sifu Wong never had any other martial arts instructor other than Bruce Lee and he continued to practice and teach the art of Jeet kune do the way that Bruce taught him for over 37 years around the world. The students of Ted Wong often call the version of Ted Wong Jeet Kune Do to differentiate the lineage of Bruce Lee's teachings.
